Its been a tough week for the lady killer. First, he was openly dissed with his own lyrics and then his attempt to do a “drive by” in L.A. ultimately back fired.
What’s an emo-rapper to do? Click on to read the juicy details!
It all started when [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rick Ross[/lastfm] dropped his mix tape Rich Forever last Friday, featuring a track called “Stay Schemin” where [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Drake[/lastfm] throws a shot at rap “god” [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Common[/lastfm].
@ 1:33 – “It bothers me when the gods get to acting like the broads.” – Drake
That prompted Common to remix the same track with his own diss and gave DRAKE THE BUSINESS!! Just in case you may doubt he is talking about Drake, even after he calls him “Canada Dry,” he says “Make no mistake, I’m talking to Drake” and then he samples [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Destiny’s Child[/lastfm]‘s “Say My Name” in the background! OUCH!
I was hoping Drake would take the hint and take it easy after that lyrical beat down Common gave him, but no, he had to try and show his “thug bravado” off in L.A.
A few weeks ago, some crazy, unknown woman took to heart Drake’s lyrics, “Tat my name on it so I know its real,” in his song “Free Spirit.” She took herself to a tattoo shop in L.A. and artist Kevin Campbell tattooed Drake’s name across her forehead (yeah crazy!).
After this girl’s face was plastered all over the internet, some folks interviewed the tattoo artist who got a little loose with his words and called Drake a “goof nugget R&B dude.” Well… Wheelchair Jimmy was having none of that! According to NecoleBitchie.com, he drove by that same tattoo shop to address the issue with the artist.
Campbell said “Drake sent his security detail into the shop to inform me that ‘nobody is going to hurt Drake in the state of California.’ I don’t remember ever saying I was going to hurt him, but maybe they were referring to his feelings.”
Daaaaamn! Drake sends his boys in to say some words? That’s THUG LIFE! Maybe next time he can write a strongly worded letter and have his mom sign it.
Look, this might be how you do it in Toronto, Drizzy, but here in the States we pride ourselves on excessive violence and illegal gun possession. Step it up, son!
What do YOU think of Drake’s drive by? A little soft, no? Of course, we DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE AT ALL, but come on, man. COME ON!
