Spike Lee is back and set to direct another movie, a spin off of “Do the Right Thing” this time it’s called “Red Hook Summer.” Red Hook Summer debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year! The Movie was filmed in Brooklyn and is set to be released on August 10th, in Brooklyn first and then expand to different cities with in the United States! Check out behind the scenes video added!

Spike Lee and Variance Films have signed a deal to help release this Movie out in August. Spike explains “From my very first joint back in 1986, She’s Gotta Have It, I have been an independent filmmaker, and even today, I still am. I’m elated to join forces with Variance Films for the independent distribution of my new joint Red Hook Summer. We look forward to getting this film into the marketplace, where we believe 100 percent that there is a starving audience for American independent films like Red Hook Summer.”

Red Hook Summer will be Spike Lee’s 20th Film. He has directed other great classics such as, Malcolm X, He got Game starring Ray Allen, and 25th hour. Following this movie he will release and direct an English-language remake of Park Chan-wook’s South Korean hit film, Oldboy.
