After some Twitter back-and-forth, in which each side blames the other for inciting the beef, Angel Haze dropped a diss record called “On The Edge.” On the track she takes a break from rapping to taunt Banks for taking too time to complete an album. [Listen here]
“Lol. Any response that is not in the form of a song is null and void,” Haze Tweeted. “20 minutes. It took me nothing but a hairflip…a real one.”
But the Twitter shots didn’t stop there. Azealia pointed out that there was no mention of the recent twitter dispute and accused Haze of having the song on tap.
“So Diplo just calls me and tells me she wrote that track months ago and he had nothing to do with it,” Banks tweeted Friday (January 4). “Further proof that you’ve had this WHACK diss track ready FOR MONTHS. #LOSERRRRR”
She then promised to release a dis track of her own. “Lol I def used that energy to write a fly new jam tho,” she Tweeted. “It’s not even really a diss anymore! Haha !!!.”
On Friday, she released “No Problems,” in which she proclaims “Angels need Jesus” and plays up her New York roots. [Listen here]
While the noise seemed to flair up in the last 48 hours, the origin of their conflict is unclear. Haze hinted that there was something bigger at stake than what has been revealed on Twitter.
“Lol, so fraudulent,” Haze said. “You know what happened between us months ago and if you want to pretend its all just twitter beef, fine.”
For her part, Azealia says that the songs speak for themselves.
“I made fly art,” she tweeted. “You made an angry love song. You wrote MONTHS in advance. I wrote in one night. I WIN.”
