Ciara Talks Making Beautiful Music Together With Future
Ciara stopped by to chat with Jenny Boom Boom backstage at the GRAMMYs, and the singer talked about her relationship with Future, new new album and lots more.
Ciara has been hard at work on her upcoming album, including working with the rapper Future. “It’s been really fun, he’s really dope,” she said of the rising star. “He has so much to offer as a writer… I’ve been inspired by working with him, and I’ve been able to find some new energy in this phase of my recording process. I’m almost done, but it’s a great way to get to closing out the record. We created some really sweet stuff.”
Future has been vocal about enjoying working with Ciara as well, and has even said their relationship was more than just professional. Ciara wouldn’t confirm that she and the rapper are a full-on couple, but she did say coyly “He’s a great person.”
Whether their relationship is anything more than professional, Future will still be writing with Ciara and Mike Will for her new album, but his association will be more behind the scenes, rather than in-track guest spots.
Ciara is focusing on music instead of modelling right now, and she feels energized to take on everything she can. “I just wrapped up filming with The Game, I’ve been doing some fun photo shoots I can’t wait to share with my fans,” she said. “Creatively I’m just tapping into this new-found creative zone right now.”
The singer has a few songs out at the moment, which is something else that’s added to her excitement. “We put out ‘Got me Good,’ we put out ‘I’m Sorry’ and the fans showed me love on that,” she said. “It really was about getting everything started. It feels good to know the fans are excited about what I’m gonna do next, and they’re just really turnt up with me.”
The question now is, when will the new album be released? Ciara isn’t sure exactly, but when the time is right, she thinks she’ll know. “I don’t have a date… at the right time,” she said, adding “My analogy for the record is– it’s on the stove, we’ve been putting all the right seasonings in it… you know when the pot starts to bubble and you could start smelling the season through the house? That’s where we are right now. It’s starting to permeate. And then right when it’s done, I’ll serve it to my fans.”
