On Friday, Bobby Shmurda accepted a plea deal that will put him behind bars for 7 years just days before his trial was supposed to begin. The rapper had been waiting over a year and a half for his trial, which was to begin today (Sept 12) after being arrested in December 2014 outside of a New York recording studio. Shmurda was accused of being the leader of the GS9 gang with conspiracy and weapon and drug charges. The rapper plead guilty to 4 the degree conspiracy and 2nd degree criminal weapon possession. He had to accept the plea deal along with two other co-defendants Chad “Rowdy Rebel” Marshall and Nicholas McCoy or none of them could do it.
He will get time served on the 7 years he was given, which leaves him with a little over 5 years left on his sentence.
