Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane have teamed up for a new track, “Oh Lord,” which will appear on the soundtrack for Birth of a Nation, Nate Parker’s upcoming film about Nat Turner’s slave rebellion.

In the emotional song, Gucci Mane pleads for God to hear his prayer, making references to the slavery and segregation that mark African-American history: “Dear Lord, oh lord, please hear my prayer/ No, you ain’t take me this far to leave me here.”

At one point, an auto-tuned Wayne references the rapper’s long-running feud with Cash Money and Birdman. “I had to leave the family/ I had to cut off CMB /I’m an amputee.”

The Birth of a Nation soundtrack will be released on Friday and will also feature 2 Chainz, Meek Mill and Pusha T. The film comes out on October 7, following a successful premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize.

Gucci Mane is scheduled to drop his new album Woptober on October 17. The 14-tracks feature guest appearances from Rick Ross and Travis Scott.

Woptober will arrive just months after the July release of Everybody’s Looking, which Gucci recorded in six days following a two-year prison sentence.

Lil Wayne’s prison memoir Gone ‘Til November comes out October 11.
