Tracy Morgan’s recovery seems to be going really well, he’s back doing stand up and now he has signed on for a new comedy TV series. The yet to be named series was created by Jodan Peele from ‘Key & Peele’ and John Carcieri, who worked together on the HBO series ‘Vice Principals’. The new series was originally picked up by FX before Morgan’s accident but they ultimately ended up passing on the project. The show has now been picked up by TBS. Morgan will be starring as a convict who is released early from jail after 15 years in prison. The show will follow his character as he attempts to adjust to all of the changes in the world since he went to jail.
In a statement released by TBS executive vice president of programming Brett Weitz, “TBS is becoming a home for the most creative and diverse comedy creators in the business, and Tracy and Jordan are a perfect fit for this network.” NO release date has been announced.
