The Carters have spoken!
Hillary Clinton is throwing a concert in Cleveland to rally the youth to vote in her favor, similar to the strategy used for Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns. Beyonce has already sided with Hillary, but Jay-Z is taking it a step further by headlining her Cleveland concert. This is interesting because Jay-Z has been hesitant to endorse her because of his relationship with Obamas and being a huge part of their campaign.
Clinton’s also gotten endorsements from Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, John Legend and others to engage young voters.
While I do think it’s cool that artists are vocal about their political stance, I do find it slightly insulting that politicians believe that’s celebrities cosigning will make us vote for them.
