Young Jeezy Gets Political on ‘Bout That’ Video Featuring Lil Wayne

Even though Young Jeezy’s collaboration with Lil Wayne “Bout That” isn’t necessarily political, the music video he released for the track took on a political tone.

In between shots of flashy cars and lots of bling, the camera finds Jeezy rapping in front of a mural of Donald Trump that doesn’t depict the soon-to-be president in the most flattering light. The mural features Trump, who is dressed like The Joker, fighting the Statue of Liberty. People lifting their hands in protest surround the two figures.

Even though the commentary about Trump is subtle, it’s the latest musical send-up about the billionaire businessman turned president. Before Trump was elected, Run the Jewels dropped a new, critical track about him, while Wyclef Jean spoofed him in a Funny or Die bit. Taking a more serious note, rapper Vic Mensa penned an open letter, encouraging marginalized groups to come together and organize.
